The winning design for the El Paso County 2024 “I Voted” sticker contest will be announced Wednesday, November 15, 2023. “We’ve been incredibly encouraged with the continued interest our El Paso County high school students have shown in this contest,” said Lisa Wise, El Paso County Elections Administrator.
The El Paso County Elections Department received a record breaking 285 submissions for the third edition of the “I Voted” sticker contest. The sticker will be distributed to voters at all Early Voting and Election Day Vote Centers during the 2024 electoral season. The judges will review each submission and select a first, second and third place. Judging will be based on the artistic skill, theme, and uniqueness of the design. Three outstanding members of the community have agreed to participate as judges:
Anne Mitchell - Founder and Owner, So El Paso “I am thrilled to be asked to judge because I believe voting is a fundamental right as a U.S. citizen and should be exercised by all. Receiving and proudly wearing the “I Voted” sticker is a rite of passage for voters and for the County to make it an open and inclusive contest is not only fun, but brilliant!”
Claudia S. Preza – Assistant Curator, El Paso Museum of Art “I accepted the invitation to be a Judge for this contest because I believe in empowering youth and the importance of involvement in the electoral process. Furthermore, it is great to see the work of aspiring artists and graphic designers.”
Tino Ortega - Local Artist and Muralist “He likes the idea that the viewers can be a part of the art. He believes artists have the responsibility to bring empathy and emotion into their artwork where the viewer can relate in a way that creates change.”
