Meet the Judges: 2025 Sticker Design Contest
Wednesday, October 22, 2025

El Paso, Texas – The El Paso County Elections Department invites local elementary and high school students to showcase their creativity and promote civic engagement through the 2025 Sticker Design Contest. This year’s contest features two categories:

  • “Future Voter” Sticker Design Contest - open to elementary school students.
  • “I Voted” Sticker Design Contest - open to high school students.

First place winning designs will become the official “Future Voter” and “I Voted” stickers distributed to voters during the 2026 election season. The deadline to submit an entry is Friday, October 31, 2025.

To select first, second and third place winners for each category, five distinguished community leaders will serve as judges. We asked each leader: Why did you accept your participation as a judge for this contest?

Gina Martinez-CEO, La Nube. “As a proud El Paso native and CEO of La Nube, one of my most meaningful responsibilities is inspiring the next generation of civically engaged community members. Opportunities like this allow me to bring that part of my work to life in a tangible way by connecting with young people, fostering curiosity, and helping them see the power they have to shape their community’s future.”

Iris Lopez-93.1 KISS-FM Co-Host and Founder of Mija, Yes You Can. “I believe creativity and civic engagement go hand in hand. Our young artists, both Mijas and Mijos, are the future voices of our community, and opportunities like this encourage them to express pride in their city and their vote. As someone who’s passionate about uplifting local talent, I’m honored to help celebrate their art and their role in shaping El Paso’s future.”

Juan Ornelas-Local Artist. “I’ve been such a huge fan of the concept and spirit of the “I Voted” sticker design contest for the past four years and have always looked forward to wearing each sticker proudly while also feeling the joy of knowing that some young local artist gets the chance to connect with our city through their creativity.”

Marcos Rey-Local Artist and Photographer. “I’m thrilled to accept an invitation to be a judge for the El Paso Elections Department. As someone deeply connected to the local art scene, I have the pleasure of curating and attending numerous local art exhibitions. As an avid art lover and collector, I look forward to seeing the innovative works that will be submitted and excited to support local emerging talent. It’s an honor to give back to the community and share my passion with others.”

Chico-Official El Paso Chihuahuas Mascot. “Driven by a deep commitment to giving back, Chico dedicates his time and energy to making a positive impact, especially in education. Chico has become one of El Paso’s most visible and impactful community figures and loved not just for his presence, but for his purpose!”

The winning designs will be announced on Friday, November 14, 2025. “The El Paso County Elections Department is excited for the 2025 “I Voted” Sticker Design Contest. This year, there is the opportunity for elementary students to also participate by designing our “Future Voter” sticker. We are eager to see what creative designs are submitted this year and grateful for an amazing panel of judges” said Lisa Wise, Elections Administrator.
