In Texas, when you vote in a Primary Election, you affiliate with either the Democratic or Republican Party. If no candidate receives more than 50% of the votes, the top two move on to the May 2026 Runoff Election. The runoff decides the party’s final candidate for the November 2026 General Election.
Who Can Vote:
If you voted in the March 2026 Primary Election:
• You can only vote in the Primary Runoff for the same party.
• You cannot switch parties between the Primary and Primary Runoff.
If you did NOT vote in the March 2026 Primary Election:
• You can choose to vote in either the Democratic or Republican Runoff.
