2024-2025 Voter Registration Certificates to be Mailed Countywide Friday, December 15, 2023
Friday, December 15, 2023

El Paso County voters will begin to receive their new voter registration certificate this week. The certificates are yellow in color and are valid from January 1, 2024 through December 31, 2025.

New certificates are mailed every even-numbered year to all active registered voters. Voters are encouraged to check the information on their new certificate for accuracy. If the information is correct, voters should sign it upon receipt and retain it for upcoming elections. Voters can also use it for informational purposes, such as, what precinct and/or voting districts they belong to. If the information is incorrect, on the back of the certificate voters can use the two lines to make any corrections followed by their signature. Please be aware that certificates are not pre-paid to mail back to us. A voter will need to provide their own envelope and postage. Our office will make the change and mail a corrected replacement certificate once it’s received.

The phrase “Return Service Requested” is only for the United States Postal Service to return the certificate to our office should it be undeliverable. If a voter receives a certificate for a person who no longer lives at their address, we ask that they return it to our office by writing “no longer lives here.” Please be aware that certificates are not pre-paid to mail back to us.

A voter registration certificate is not required when voting in person and does not serve as an acceptable form of photo identification at the voting place. However, if a voter is unable to reasonably obtain an acceptable form of photo identification, the certificate may be used as a supporting document. The certificate is also an acceptable form of identification if a voter with documented disabilities is exempt prior to an election, an “E” will be printed at the end of their VUID number.

If a voter is registered to vote in El Paso County and does not receive a new certificate by January 3, 2024, we encourage them to contact our office so that we may verify their information.
